A SAFE PLACE 365 DAYS A YEAR

Emergency Services

We also serve the community as an emergency shelter for children in distress. If a child is taken from a home because of unsafe living conditions by a law enforcement officer, they are able to stay at the shelter until they are either allowed to go back home or are placed in the foster care system. This service is one of those that is paid for by state insurance.

Other circumstances in which a child may need to stay with us is if they are removed from a foster home for disruptive behavior. We understand that these children have been through a great deal of stress and should not have to tackle their problems alone.

Children can stay here anywhere from a few days up to a month. Our desire is to provide a safe place for children to be able to stay so they can work through what is on their minds and return to a more normal life feeling opportunistic about the life they live.

It is important to remember that we serve children. We are a resource and safe space for them to come. They all deserve a safe living situation and if they are not in one, we are here to help.

We are licensed through the State of Kansas as a residential group home. However, our services are not free. We are not a non-profit business. Most of our services are paid for by state insurance or from medical insurance, depending on the situation each specific child is in.
