Salary: DOE
Hours: full-time, M-Fri 9-5 pm
Qualifications
High school diploma/GED required
Minimum 21 Years of age
Able to read and follow standardized recipes
Strong knowledge of proper food handling procedures
Able to work as part of a team in a busy kitchen atmosphere
Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures for the field
Ability to stand for extended periods of time – 1 hour minimum
Ability to bend, stretch, and handle lifting up to 50 pounds
Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a background check, physical, and drug test.
Cooking planned meals for 20+ people, preferred
2+ years’ experience as a Cook preferred
Cook responsibilities
Maintain food, beverage, or equipment inventories.
Plan menus that are varied, nutritionally balanced, and appetizing,.
Ensures meal quality, menu integrity, and residents’ needs & satisfaction.
Properly store food items at appropriate temperatures.
Measure and assemble ingredients for menu items
Help serve individuals
Rotate stock items as per procedures
Clean, Sanitize and inspect galley equipment, kitchen appliances, and work areas to ensure cleanliness and functional operation.
Inspect facilities, equipment or supplies to ensure conformance to standards.
Clean up after meals, including doing dishes and taking out the trash.
Help with ordering all items for the meals.
Stocks food deliveries, performs a variety of tasks, and may assist or cover other positions as needed.
Determine meal prices, based on calculations of ingredient prices.
Full time cooks will also assist with shopping.
Monitor menus and spending to ensure that meals are prepared economically.
Monitor food services operations to ensure procedures are followed.
Train food preparation or food service personnel.
Cooks are also required to attend orientation and ongoing paid training as required by State Regulations
